Hello everyone,

I recently purchased the IKEA Brimnes bed, and when unpacking it, I noticed that some parts were missing. Specifically, screws and the mounting materials for the headboard lighting are missing. The problem is that I want to assemble the bed quite soon, and now I’m uncertain about the best way to obtain the missing parts without significant delays or complications.

Has anyone experienced missing parts with the IKEA Brimnes bed, and is there a straightforward way to reorder these parts quickly? What was the process like for you? Are there any tips to avoid unnecessary delays? I’m also interested to know whether the IKEA service center is particularly accommodating with Brimnes beds or if longer waiting times are common.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hey,

just from experience – the Brimnes bed isn’t really the most complicated, but as I said: missing parts are always annoying. My advice: stay calm and make a list.

You can also turn a situation like this into something positive: just put on your swim shorts, grab a coffee, and tackle the problem step by step. As the saying goes, "If you don’t have the right screws, just build a nice coffee table first."

I once ordered a lamp along with it, so the wait was worth it. Maybe this sounds familiar to you—just don’t let it stress you out.

And always remember: customer service can be slow sometimes, but it’s usually reliable—and the Brimnes bed will last forever anyway.

Open the manual and look for all missing parts based on the exploded diagram. There is often a spare part code indicated next to the component.

Thank you, PRA64, that really helps me a lot. That’s exactly how I will proceed. I think IKEA could make their manuals a bit more user-friendly and display these codes more prominently.

That’s exactly my concern – that the response and delivery will take several days and I often won’t be kept updated.

How was it for you? How does IKEA respond to inquiries during a spare parts order? Are there automated updates, or do you often have to follow up multiple times?

Hello,

regarding your question about response time: IKEA usually sends a confirmation email after ordering replacement parts. Often, this email includes a link to track the shipment, allowing you to check the status online at any time. This is especially useful for urgently needed parts.

Proactive communication from IKEA is standard—if there are any delays, you should generally receive a notification. If this does not happen, I recommend contacting them directly by phone or chat, as their systems can sometimes experience technical delays.

Another tip: Keep all order documents (invoice, order number, replacement part numbers) ready to make communication more efficient.

The process remains professional and straightforward, especially for a well-established product like Brimnes.

Just to add briefly: If you have a local IKEA nearby, simply go there directly with the missing parts. On-site, you can often get replacements faster without shipping.

When calling, always have the order number ready; otherwise, it can be difficult.

In many cases, this is the quickest way.
