Hello community, I am currently looking into which replacement parts are most commonly needed for Ikea Brimnes furniture, especially the dressers and beds. Since I know that certain components tend to wear out or get damaged over time in affordable furniture like Ikea’s, I am particularly interested in which parts typically fail or go missing. It would be helpful if anyone could share their experiences regarding the most common defects or wear parts—such as handles, drawer runners, screws, or other specific components. Does anyone have extensive experience or specific advice on what a BRIMNES owner should keep in stock to avoid having to replace the entire piece over minor damage?

Hey, I can confirm the issue with the handles – in my case, the plastic handle on a drawer broke after about two years. Fortunately, ordering replacement parts from Ikea is fairly straightforward, and they were quite affordable. Speaking of drawer slides: I’ve noticed that regular cleaning with a simple spray oil works wonders – nothing sticks or squeaks anymore. Maybe a good idea to have something like that on hand as a preventive measure! 😎

I have the same problem with the slatted frame clamps on a Brimnes bed. They are made of plastic and tend to break after some time. However, the damage is usually limited, and replacements are easy to get. Tightening the screws also helps prevent wobbling.

Handles, drawer slides, and screws are the classics. If the bed is wobbling, first check the screws. Spare parts are usually available individually at Ikea.

Handles and pulls from BRIMNES tend to wear out quickly, especially with frequent use. Just make sure not to overload them.

Plastic is often the weak point, but hey, at least replacement parts are available! Maybe that’s Ikea’s secret plan to get us to do small upgrades now and then. 😉 Seriously though, being prepared can save you trouble and let you sleep easy.
