Hello everyone,

I recently purchased the IKEA Brimnes bed, and when unpacking it, I noticed that some parts were missing. Specifically, screws and the mounting materials for the headboard lighting are missing. The problem is that I want to assemble the bed quite soon, and now I’m uncertain about the best way to obtain the missing parts without significant delays or complications.

Has anyone experienced missing parts with the IKEA Brimnes bed, and is there a straightforward way to reorder these parts quickly? What was the process like for you? Are there any tips to avoid unnecessary delays? I’m also interested to know whether the IKEA service center is particularly accommodating with Brimnes beds or if longer waiting times are common.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello Leifgla,

Based on my experience, I recommend thoroughly checking the packaging first, as small bags with screws are sometimes well hidden. If parts are actually missing, the most direct way is through the IKEA website or customer service hotline. You can provide your order number there, and they usually send the missing parts for free.

This kind of thing happens quite often with Brimnes beds, especially with small parts like screws or fittings. It’s important to be able to list exactly what is missing, preferably with the item numbers from the assembly instructions. Delivery times for replacement parts are usually short if the items are in stock.

In my opinion, IKEA’s customer service is fairly accommodating in these cases, but you should make sure to report the issue promptly—ideally immediately after unpacking.

I would like to add to tangi’s comments: If parts are missing from an IKEA Brimnes bed frame, it is recommended to first carefully review the assembly instructions. These often include a detailed list of all parts provided, along with their numbers and names. This makes subsequent communication with IKEA much easier.

Additionally, it is helpful to use IKEA’s online service, as replacement parts can sometimes be ordered directly through a specific platform without needing to repurchase the entire product. If assembly materials for electrical components (such as the headboard lighting) are missing, be sure to point this out explicitly, as these parts might be stored separately.

Regarding waiting times, I can say from an objective perspective that they vary by region but usually do not exceed 1-2 weeks on average.

In short:
- Check packaging and instructions
- Clearly identify missing parts
- Use the online replacement parts portal
- Contact customer service if necessary
- Report any issues immediately after discovery

Hello,

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you have a schedule for assembling the furniture. From my experience, it’s important not to get discouraged. IKEA is usually very accommodating and tries to provide the missing parts quickly.

A few tips at this point:
- You’re probably aware that the individual screws and fittings are often packed in small, numbered bags. With Brimnes, for example, it can happen that these bags are overlooked.
- If something is really missing, you should specify the parts exactly, preferably using the number given in the instructions. Sometimes it also helps to use the part’s name, for example, “connector screw M6x50.”
- If there are any issues, contact customer support immediately by phone or via the IKEA website. They are understanding if you react quickly.

So, if you have questions about the exact process, I’m happy to help.

Thanks for the tip, tangi. I’ve already searched for spare parts on the website but found the navigation quite confusing because Brimnes has so many variations (with and without drawers, different colors, etc.). Could you maybe share a few keywords or the best way to find what I need most easily?

Clearly name the parts

That really seems like the most important point, as I’m worried I might order the wrong item otherwise. Unfortunately, my manual only shows the part number but no actual name label, so I would also appreciate a checklist or list of the exact terms I should use when making inquiries.

Does anyone perhaps have an overview of Brimnes parts that are commonly missing or cause problems?

Good morning, Leifgla,

Regarding your question about ordering replacement parts for the IKEA Brimnes, here is a brief guide on how I handle it:

- First, note the exact model name and color of the Brimnes bed (usually found on the box or the receipt).
- Open the assembly instructions and identify all missing parts using the exploded diagram. There is often a replacement part code next to each component.
- Use the official IKEA replacement parts website: enter these codes to get matching part suggestions.
- Missing screws and fittings are among the most common reorder items, as well as mounting materials for lighting or additional features.

Typical parts that are often missing:
- Screw sets (M6x50 mm (2 inches), M4x30 mm (1¼ inches), etc.)
- Connecting bolts
- Threaded inserts
- Plastic covers

Once you select the parts directly in the order overview, you can submit the request and usually receive the parts either free of charge or with only a small shipping fee.

In short:
- Note the codes from the instructions
- Use the replacement parts website
- Communicate clearly

I also recommend contacting customer service by email directly if the system does not list all the parts.
