Additionally, I attached small plastic spacers to the bottom of the side panels to allow minimal air circulation and help prevent moisture damage when the furniture is placed in a more humid room.
Another tip for multi-purpose modifications: I reinforced the top shelves with a thin MDF board, which I then painted to create a smoother and more durable surface. This way, you can place heavier items on top without the original panel bending.
