Hello everyone, I have a problem that I hope someone here in the forum can help solve: What is the best way to secure IKEA Billy shelves on carpeted floors?
I understand that the traditional method of wall mounting works well on solid, dry floors, but my floor is a thick carpet, and I want to fix the shelf securely and stably without it wobbling or tipping over.
Has anyone had experience with fastening methods specifically for carpeted floors? Are there special wall anchors or other tips you can recommend? I’m looking for a safe solution that leaves as little damage as possible and isn’t too complicated. Thanks in advance!

Karsten4518 Sep 2021 08:28Hey, after all the input, I specifically ordered rubber mats and tested my Billy bookshelf on carpet. And what can I say? The combination with the wall brackets works great. A little anecdote: At first, I thought such a heavy shelf couldn't tip over – but I was wrong! With the right fixings, it’s secure. 😉
