Hello everyone,
I am planning to install an IKEA PLATSA system in my home, but I am facing an issue with an uneven floor. The irregularities are not severe but noticeable—some areas are slightly sloped or have small height differences.
My question is: How can I secure IKEA PLATSA on uneven floors so that the furniture stands stable and there is no risk of tipping or damage?
Are there specific techniques, materials, or anchoring methods recommended for this furniture system? I suspect that simple adjustable feet might not be sufficient, and wall mounting could also be more challenging if the floor isn’t completely level.
Does anyone have experience with this and can offer advice on how to safely assemble and fix PLATSA despite uneven floor conditions? Thanks in advance for any tips!

How do I secure IKEA PLATSA on uneven floors so that the furniture stands stable afterwards and there is no risk of it tipping over or getting damaged?I’m very familiar with this – uneven floors just make everything more complicated. I had the same problem myself and wasn’t sure how to proceed.
What helped me was using flexible, adjustable leveling feet under the base. You can adjust these afterward until everything is stable and level. It’s also very important to fix the furniture to the wall, because otherwise it can tip over easily – especially with PLATSA’s tall units.
I also had an issue once when the wall wasn’t completely straight. I used small shims to adjust the fittings. That might be another option if the floor is really difficult.
Hope this gives you a good starting point – I know exactly how frustrating uneven floors can be, but there are solutions!

Those are exactly the kinds of challenges I enjoy! 😃
I’ve combined PLATSA with so-called “furniture wedges” – these come in rubber or wood and can be slipped under the feet to compensate for unevenness. These wedges help a lot and are super easy to install.
Also: don’t neglect the wall fastenings suggested in the instructions! They’re your best friend when dealing with uneven floors, as they ensure the furniture stands securely even if the floor isn’t completely level.
One more tip: after assembly, check everything from underneath and adjust if necessary. That way, you’ll have the perfect setup! In the end, PLATSA becomes very stable as long as you compensate for the unevenness carefully! Good luck and feel free to experiment a bit with fine-tuning!
For uneven floors, use adjustable threaded feet. You can customize them individually to compensate for unevenness.
Wall mounting is mandatory because PLATSA can easily tip over.
To secure it under the cabinet, you can also use window sealing tape, which helps prevent slipping.

The unevenness is not dramatic but noticeable – in some places slightly sloping or with small height differences. In such cases, I recommend the following approach:
- First, measure the exact height deviations using a spirit level or laser level.
- Then use adjustable furniture feet with threaded spindles to level the furniture horizontally.
- After that, place the PLATSA units on the prepared base.
- Important: Install the supplied wall brackets and ideally attach them to load-bearing walls, as the height of the units poses a tipping risk.
- If the floor unevenness is greater, it may be useful to insert stable wooden wedges or narrow spacers under the furniture base to create a secure support.
This combination of mechanical leveling and wall fastening ensures the necessary stability and safety. The key is careful measurement and adjustment before the final assembly.
Are there any details about the floor surface? For example, parquet, tiles, or concrete? This can influence the choice of fixing materials.
