Hello everyone, I am currently planning to install an Ikea PAX wardrobe in a relatively small niche in my apartment. The niche is approximately 120 cm (47 inches) wide and 60 cm (24 inches) deep, slightly narrower than the standard PAX modules. My main question to the community is: How can Ikea PAX be best utilized in small niches, both functionally and visually?
I would appreciate tips on selecting the right modules, possible modifications, combined with good ideas for interior organization and appearance. Also, experiences on how to use PAX as efficiently as possible despite spatial limitations, and whether certain fronts or interior fittings are particularly suitable.
Thank you in advance for any helpful contributions!

If you want to make the most of the available space, you should also consider customizable interior components. Pax offers a variety of inserts, such as hanging rods, drawers, shelves, boxes, and even trouser hangers.
Additionally, it makes sense to ensure easy access to the rear areas during installation—for example, by using pull-outs or drawers instead of fixed shelves. This greatly improves accessibility in deep spaces.
Visually, I prefer matte light-colored fronts in small niches—they reflect light well and prevent narrow rooms from feeling cramped.

Alternatively, there are PAX-specific lights with plug connectors designed to be built into the frame, but these usually require a nearby power outlet.
If a power connection is available, you can also install wired light strips using mounting wire. However, this should be carefully planned to avoid problems later on.
