Hello everyone, I have a small, narrow hallway in my apartment and I’m thinking about how to best use the Ikea Platsa furniture to make the most of the space without making it feel cluttered or cramped. I’m looking for practical storage solutions while keeping things as flexible as possible, since I’d like to occasionally adjust the configuration. Maybe you have tips on combining the modules, avoiding space hogs, or smart ways to divide the compartments. I’m also interested to know if certain PLATSA elements work particularly well for hallways, such as narrow cabinets, wall-mounted cupboards, or specific uses. I’m looking forward to your experiences and suggestions!

I recommend a narrow Platsa shelving unit with sliding doors. Drawers at the bottom are practical for shoes. Hanging shelves above provide space for keys and hats.

Sliding doors significantly reduce the space needed to open them and are therefore especially useful in narrow hallways.

Thank you, valentino, that really appeals to me! I was concerned that sliding doors might be less practical because of the running rails. Have they held up well for you, or have there been any wear issues?

I chose narrow cabinets with sliding doors; it saves a lot of space when opening and looks modern!

Maybe you could add how you organized the cabinets for different items (shoes, jackets, bags)? I want to avoid dust buildup as much as possible, so I’m interested in lockable compartments.
