Hello everyone, I am planning to equip my Ikea Besta TV unit with LED lighting to make it look more modern and atmospheric. My question is how to best install this lighting without damaging the furniture or dealing with extensive wiring. Which types of LEDs are suitable, how can the power supply be best implemented, and do you have any tips regarding dimmers or controllers? It is important to me that everything is safe and visually well integrated. Thanks for any helpful suggestions or experiences!

Additionally, LED aluminum profiles can be used. They serve as mounting rails and heat sinks. This helps to better cool the LED strips and results in cleaner light. They come in various shapes that also fit well into the Besta.

Thanks, that sounds convincing. I will order aluminum channels for the LEDs, probably with an opal diffuser.

Does anyone have recommendations on how to route the power supply as discreetly as possible through the furniture? Cable ducts or drilled holes – what is practical, and how can damage to the BESTA be avoided?
