Hello
We have purchased a newly built semi-detached house.
The terrace is 3m deep (10 feet) by 5m wide (16 feet).
The garden is 10m wide (33 feet) by 20m deep (66 feet).
We want to enlarge the terrace ourselves later but are not yet sure by how much. We wanted to ask what terrace size would be practical—spacious enough with sufficient room but not too large.
The garden faces southwest.
The developer is building a wall as a terrace partition, which will end exactly at the edge of the terrace.
Therefore, it would be best to decide now how deep the terrace should ultimately be.

we are planning the terrace to be 4 x 6m (13 x 20 feet) initially and will design the wall to be 4m (13 feet) long
as mentioned, the terrace will first only have a table with chairs for 6 people and the grill placed next to the wall (it’s a gas grill)
if we find that we need more than 4m (13 feet), then the terrace will simply be longer than the wall

Just relaxed. Often, there is still a door in the dining area.
It largely depends on how you use and furnish the space. Beer bench or lounge?
Sun island, etc.
I don’t like it when you can’t get through between the house wall and the seating area, or when the back row of chairs has its legs standing on the lawn.

Roof terrace or why is it only allowed to be so small?
I would also recommend at least 4 meters (13 feet) so that it doesn’t feel too cramped. We have 5 x 12 meters (16 x 39 feet), and even then, sometimes I think (with flower pots facing the garden) that it could have been a bit bigger.
