Hello
We have purchased a newly built semi-detached house.
The terrace is 3m deep (10 feet) by 5m wide (16 feet).
The garden is 10m wide (33 feet) by 20m deep (66 feet).
We want to enlarge the terrace ourselves later but are not yet sure by how much. We wanted to ask what terrace size would be practical—spacious enough with sufficient room but not too large.
The garden faces southwest.
The developer is building a wall as a terrace partition, which will end exactly at the edge of the terrace.
Therefore, it would be best to decide now how deep the terrace should ultimately be.

We actually don’t want much
A table with chairs for 6 people and the grill next to the patio partition wall (masonry)
I believe the terrace can be made as large as you want

Is that even allowed?
Seems pretty extreme to me, but as others have mentioned, it depends on the intended use. My parents have 4m x 6m (13ft x 20ft) and I always thought that was plenty of space.4 x 6 is, in my opinion, huge; it can easily feel too big!P

I think a depth of 4m (13 feet) is sufficient, and that the terrace partition wall being 4m (13 feet) is also enough.

Let go of focusing on just one size or the idea that there must be only one terrace. Consider how the terrace or terraces will be used. This will determine the requirements for the size or sizes.
Social gatherings? Relaxing in the sun? Relaxing in the shade? Barbecuing? Hot tub? Table tennis? How many people? Also, different activities at the same time?... And many other questions.

For a terraced or semi-detached house, it is not uncommon to exceed the width (around 6 meters (20 feet)). Some even have two patio doors. A grill positioned against the wall, with about 1 meter (3 feet) of standing space in front (usually the grill is placed on the lawn anyway due to the smoke), and a table with chairs (total area about 3 x 4 meters (10 x 13 feet)), then a depth of 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet) fits very well. The extra space can be filled with flower pots, a reclining chair, and other decor. Relaxation chairs can be placed on a small patch of lawn.
A wall with a height of 4 meters (13 feet) should be sufficient.
