Good evening everyone,

This weekend is the time – painting and building will begin.
My son is already busy assembling cabinets in his room, and a question came up for him.
The Besta storage bench is shown in the new Besta catalog both on the floor and in various combinations as a wall-mounted shelf.
We are building something similar and plan to hang one of the benches about 140 cm (55 inches) high.
But what should we do about the holes for the feet? They are quite visible *grumble*. Turning the bench over doesn’t help either, since you can still see them.
Is there some kind of cover panel for that? Has anyone hung one of these and found a solution?
I remember that for high-gloss kitchen fronts, there were covers for the large hinge holes, which allowed the door to be used for pull-out pantry cabinets. So I assume there must be something similar for the Besta foot holes as well.

Best regards,
Andrea

For the benches with heights of 38 cm (15 inches) and 64 cm (25 inches), wall mounting is shown in the assembly instructions. For heights of 128 cm (50 inches) and above, wall mounting is no longer intended. In response to my written inquiry about load capacity, I was told a maximum of 30 kg (66 lbs) including the door, even though the product description states 30 kg (66 lbs) per shelf.

Hi everyone, hi IKEA expert,

My apologies (!), I received the same information from the IKEA expert today. Besta cabinets must have been reinforced; with the initial series, this was definitely not possible.

So, SORRY, that was my mistake! I did not mean to cause any confusion!

Best regards

Over there, drilling and screwing away...
Two shelving benches hanging, each 120x38cm (47x15 inches), two cabinets 64x60cm (25x24 inches) to follow. These are actually stacked on top of each other. Specifically from IKEA as two separate cabinets, not as one 128cm (50 inch) unit.
I also asked about plugs... they don’t exist, so the shelving bench had to be mounted upside down against the wall = holes at the bottom... but it’s hung high enough that only tall people can see the holes from above.
By the way, we bought the new Ikea high-gloss lacquer table... it comes with cover caps on it... unfortunately, my son already put them in and I don’t want to damage them pulling them out... but I’ll ask for spare caps in the next few days, maybe they’ll fit.

Speaking of the new high-gloss lacquer table... we actually got castors for it (see another post).
And they hold up. I vaguely remember that one of these lacquer tables got ruined on the balcony and that at the end of the legs there is a thick piece of particleboard. The screws hold in there.

If my living room ever gets finished, I’ll upload some photos 🙂

By the way, where do you actually send IKEA ideas? Those missing caps, for example, would be a good improvement, and for the multicolored LED lighting, buttons instead of a seamless dimmer would be better so that different cabinets can have the exact same blue tone of light.
