ᐅ Gap in kitchen unit? How do I close 79 mm?

I have planned my IKEA Bodbyn kitchen in gray for the umpteenth time.
But I have a problem: there is a gap on one side.
We have a fairly new wood stove in the kitchen that will stay.
The new kitchen will fit right next to it. Spacers have been considered. Still, there is a 79 mm (3 inches) gap left.
I don’t know how to close it. It’s too narrow for a towel rail. Leaving it open is also not ideal because it’s hard to clean inside and things will probably keep falling in, making them difficult to retrieve.
I thought about using the baseboard vertically, but it is 80 mm (3 inches) wide, so that doesn’t work. The crown molding is 6 cm (2.4 inches) and doesn’t fit either.
Using the countertop as a side panel doesn’t help either because there would still be a gap.
Does anyone have a neat solution?
Thanks in advance for any urgently needed advice.

Two more things: The IKEA planners simply include an end panel, so you need to make sure you have the correct measurements yourself. There are YouTube videos available for kitchen assembly.

I would recommend planning the Metod plinth with a lot of caution. It is just a simple plastic profile.

I installed my kitchen higher and used Faktum legs instead. Then I cut the plinth from the end panels. This is much higher quality than the Metod plinth.
