Hello!

I, Horst, bought and assembled a tall Maximera drawer today, only to realize afterward that I actually needed a medium one. 😳 Now I’m planning to return this one and buy the correct size, but I’m not sure whether I should disassemble it first or return it fully assembled.

Do any of you have experience with this?

If you can neatly pack the parts back into the box, disassemble them. If that’s not possible, leave them assembled. Ultimately, what is preferred in each DIY store or whether they don’t care at all is nobody’s guess anyway.

Then just leave them assembled. No one will require you to take them apart. Of course, don’t leave the railing attached.

If you buy the new one first, you can then replace the rails. I would just find it inconvenient to go back and forth with the car.

I have already bought a Maximera with medium height and made a tall one with a single rear panel from the bargain bin out of it. The drawer slides are almost all the same.

There are indeed two different types of drawer slides, depending on the load capacity.
At least for the 80cm (31.5 inches) wide drawers, there are slides with orange plastic inserts. These are designed for higher load capacities. They are also each secured to the cabinet with two additional screws.
I'm just not sure right now whether these are included with all 80cm (31.5 inches) drawers or only with the medium and tall ones.

Only for the medium and high ones. This is also only about the two versions.

Thanks everyone. It’s just about swapping a 40x60 cm (16x24 inches) upright panel for a medium one. According to the number, the rails are the same, as I have now checked. Since I don’t have a car anyway, I’ll first go and pick up the new one today, assemble it, and then see how best to return the rest and in what form. 🙂
