Dear community,

I am new to this forum. Please forgive me if this question has already been asked and answered somewhere. So far, I have not been able to find a clear solution to my problem.

I have decided to buy an IKEA kitchen without fronts. Instead, I want to install my own MDF fronts. The dimensions for these are not difficult to find. However, I am having trouble with the numerous drill holes for hinges and drawers. The base cabinets are configured as follows: 1x base cabinet measuring 20x60x80cm (8x24x31.5 inches) with Maximera pull-out system, 1x corner base cabinet measuring 128x68x80cm (50x27x31.5 inches) with a door, and 1x base cabinet measuring 60x60x80cm (24x24x31.5 inches). The last base cabinet contains Maximera drawers in low, medium, and tall sizes.

I now need the exact drilling measurements for all these cabinets to attach hinges or drawers. I have already found the Utrusta template for this. However, I am concerned that it may only be suitable for the tall drawer.

Is there anyone who has already dealt with this issue? It would really help me to know the precise measurements for the respective components. A template would, of course, be the ideal solution. I also do not know the required drill hole diameter for the hinges.

Thank you in advance for any answers and support!

Hello

For the 20cm (8 inch) drawer extension, a template is included. I believe an IKEA expert posted the dimensions for the hinge boring somewhere here.

For the drawers, just buy a tall HÄGGEBY front panel (about $5) to use as a template and drill through it. This is faster and easier than measuring all the holes individually.
You could do the same for the door, which also costs around $5 or so.

The 20mm (0.8 inch) extension is great! I hadn’t come across that before. I’ll look for the cup drill holes in the forum... Thanks!

I would consider buying Veddinge fronts. These are made of MDF and come with the necessary pre-drilled holes. They are not foil-covered but painted, and the edges are already sanded. If desired, you can also repaint them in your preferred color.
