Hey!
I have a Metod oven cabinet, built-in oven, induction cooktop, and an IKEA solid wood countertop, about 2.8cm (1 inch) thick.
Since the countertop isn’t very thick, several IKEA kitchen planners advised us to use two 10cm (4 inch) fronts instead of one 20cm (8 inch) drawer, and therefore a shallow drawer. The arrangement from bottom to top is:
shallow drawer (10cm / 4 inches) -> Utrusta ventilated base -> oven -> front panel as a cover (10cm / 4 inches) -> countertop with induction cooktop.
Sounds good, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for us!
When the oven is installed resting on the base from below, we are missing about 5mm (0.2 inches) for the drawer.
Does anyone have experience with this? It’s supposed to have been sold like this several times...
Thanks!

IKEA-Experte7 Jul 2014 18:01Hello, does the bottom drawer front align roughly flush with the bottom of the cabinet? If not, the brackets might be installed incorrectly.

IKEA-Experte7 Jul 2014 18:09If the stove is fitted from the top on the floor,It should actually be fitted from the bottom first, meaning as low as possible....

IKEA-Experte7 Jul 2014 19:32Is the floor for the stove still covered by the drawer front, or can it not be installed that deep because the drawer sides would get in the way?
