Dear IKEA fans,

I have fulfilled my dream of owning a Pax wardrobe. The wardrobe is assembled, but unfortunately without doors.

The Mehamn sliding doors each consist of 4 square panels that are attached to a track. Between each square, there is a strip that holds a track for the panel. But that’s where I get stuck. I can hardly get the panel into the track, and only with great force. In the end, all four panels are in place, but the fit is completely off.

I must be doing something wrong, but I can’t figure out what. I really hope to find an expert here who can easily tell me where the mistake is.

Many, many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Best regards,
Grir

Hello, try taking just one panel and one rail in your hand. Can the panel be inserted into the rail then?
If not, is there a protective film on the panel?

Hello! I have exactly the same problem. The rails for the panels have plastic guides. Does anyone know if the panels need to be "threaded" into these guides? For now, I’ve only pressed the panels against them, but now it seems that this prevents the doors from being screwed together in the end...

How did it work for you?

Thanks for any help!!

Hello,
I have the same problem.
The panels, type Mehamn, cannot be slid into the metal rails because there is a rubber gasket with two lips inside the rails. I tried removing the gasket as a test, and then it worked, but now the cabinet rattles because the panels do not fit tightly.
Does anyone have any ideas?

The problem does not seem to be entirely unfamiliar. Here:

a solution using tension straps is shown under point 6. But be careful – pulling too hard could damage the panels.

A bit of silicone spray might also help.
