Hello everyone, I have a KALLAX shelf from IKEA standing on a relatively soft floor, specifically on a vinyl floor with some padding underneath. Unfortunately, the weight of the shelf is causing indentations in the floor, which I would like to prevent. My question is: Are there specific products or effective protective measures that can be placed under KALLAX shelves to protect soft flooring? I’m looking for solutions that genuinely work and are not just compromises. Has anyone had experience with this or can provide specific recommendations? Thanks in advance!
Hello Daaidan, I solved the same problem by simply using non-slip felt pads that are extra wide (about 10cm x 10cm (4 inches x 4 inches)). They have a rubberized backing to prevent slipping. They work great on my soft vinyl flooring and there are no more pressure marks. You can find them online by searching for terms like "extra wide non-slip furniture pads."
