Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to purchase cabinets from the Ikea PAX system and am specifically looking for models with clear glass or frosted glass doors. I am aware that there are different door types available for PAX, but I find the information on the Ikea website and in the product catalogs not always clear, especially regarding glass doors.

My questions for you:
- Does Ikea currently offer, or has it occasionally offered, PAX doors with clear glass?
- Are there options for frosted glass fronts in the PAX system?
- What are your experiences with these door fronts in terms of durability, maintenance, and appearance?

I would appreciate it if anyone could share their experiences or provide detailed product information. Thanks in advance!

The idea of rubber buffers sounds interesting. Is it possible to buy these hinges separately in case replacements are needed?

Indeed, these special soft-closing hinges are an important feature for glass doors. They are usually sold as a complete hinge unit, not as individual dampers. Therefore, it’s worth ordering spare hinges along with the doors. If you choose the "Härnedal" model, the corresponding hinges are well documented in the Ikea online store.

Also, when maintaining the doors, pay attention to the rubber buffers—make sure they don’t dry out or become dirty, as this will reduce the damping effect and cause the doors to close more forcefully.

Thanks again to everyone for the valuable insights!

In summary, I have understood that Ikea Pax does offer doors with clear glass and frosted glass, especially among the "Härnedal" fronts. Frosted glass seems more practical for everyday use, as it doesn’t show dirt as much and provides better privacy.

The aspect of hinges and their replacement is definitely important, as I am focusing on durability.

I will now proceed with the planning and will probably check the measurements and availability directly at Ikea in person.

If anyone has any important tips specifically regarding the combination of glass doors with lighting or finger guards, I would appreciate if you could share them.
