Hello everyone, I am considering how to modify or personalize the Ikea Hemnes furniture series as a DIY project suitable for beginners. Specifically, I am interested in practical, simple ideas that can be implemented without much prior woodworking experience, ideally requiring minimal materials and tools. Does anyone have suggestions on how to visually and functionally improve or change the dressers, shelves, or nightstands from this series in a relatively straightforward way? I want to avoid solutions that are too complex and am instead looking for proven tips for beginners who want to subtly enhance or practically expand the classic Hemnes design.

Maybe you would also find it interesting to decorate the furniture using a transfer print? That sounds intriguing. Could you briefly explain how a transfer print works exactly? Is regular ironing paper and an inkjet printer sufficient, or do you need special materials?
Also, I find the tip about LED strips from LUSAR very helpful. What type of LED (e.g., color temperature, adhesive strength, etc.) is best suited for Hemnes furniture if I prefer a warm light? I want to keep the installation as simple as possible without making major modifications to the furniture.
