Straubi_Kob23 Oct 2014 13:33Hello everyone,
I want to reduce my 3.50m (11 ft 6 in) Pax wardrobe by one 100cm (39 in) section. That means I want to remove the middle part of the wardrobe to place a TV there. However, I’m struggling to find a suitable piece for the 100cm (39 in) gap. I’m looking for a chest of drawers or another type of cabinet that is 100cm (39 in) wide, on which I can put the TV. The cabinet should also provide some storage space. It’s a pity there are no Pax wardrobes with a lower height.
The Pax doors are Birkeland style, so the new cabinet should match those.

IKEA-Experte23 Oct 2014 14:34Hello,
the only thing that comes to mind is
1. to place a narrower chest of drawers like BRUSALI or KOPANG in between,
2. to purchase two 50cm (20 inches) wide base cabinets and LIDINGÖ fronts as additional items for the Faktum system, and to finish the cabinets with a suitable surface, such as a side panel, a thin countertop, or a tabletop.

schramm.sa24 Oct 2014 20:22You could simply shorten the height of your current PAX wardrobe. However, this involves some DIY work and requires a certain level of craftsmanship. You would also need to reinforce the surface where the TV will be placed, either by installing a stronger board (e.g., a worktop) or by using brackets inside the wardrobe.

Straubi_Kob29 Oct 2014 11:25Thank you for the information.
I also think the solution from the kitchen planner would be the best. Metod should also work. A 60cm (24 inch) and 40cm (16 inch) unit with a slightly thicker countertop on top.

Alternatively, I also remember this built-in chest of drawers, which could still be purchased until recently, designed to fit inside the Pax system.
