I am considering buying the Ikea Brimnes chest of drawers, but I’m not sure how smoothly the drawers operate. My specific question is: Are the drawers of the Ikea BRIMNES chest easy to open and close smoothly, or are there common issues like sticking or stiff mechanisms? I plan to use the chest mainly for frequent use in the bedroom, so smooth operation is very important to me.

Has anyone had direct experience, perhaps also regarding the long-term quality of the drawer slides? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I love my BRIMNES dresser!! 😍 The drawers glide very smoothly and are really easy to handle! Of course, sometimes they feel a bit stiff at first, but after opening and closing them a few times, they work like a charm!

Hello Giagau, thanks for the tip. Could you please explain in more detail how to best check whether the rails are properly aligned?

I imagine that even small irregularities can cause problems.

And where exactly would you apply silicone spray? Only on the outer guide rails, inside, or directly on the moving parts of the drawers?
