I am considering buying the Ikea Brimnes chest of drawers, but I’m not sure how smoothly the drawers operate. My specific question is: Are the drawers of the Ikea BRIMNES chest easy to open and close smoothly, or are there common issues like sticking or stiff mechanisms? I plan to use the chest mainly for frequent use in the bedroom, so smooth operation is very important to me.
Has anyone had direct experience, perhaps also regarding the long-term quality of the drawer slides? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Great thread here! I can only agree with the previous commenters: The Brimnes drawers slide really smoothly when the assembly is done properly.
A small tip from me: If the drawers become a bit stiff after some time, a drop of oil on the rails often helps – but not too much!
I did that myself and now they slide like on the first day again. It’s really enjoyable to have such little helpers! Good luck!
