Hello everyone,
I recently changed my flooring from carpet to laminate, and now I notice that my KALLAX shelf is no longer level. On the old, soft carpet, the small unevenness could be easily compensated for, but on the new, hard laminate, the shelf is slightly tilted and wobbles a bit.
My question to you: What is the best way to shim or level the KALLAX shelf to make it stable and perfectly horizontal again? Are there proven materials or techniques that are easy to apply without damaging the shelf or being too visible?
I look forward to your advice, including tips on whether to adjust the individual feet or if another method is more practical. Thanks in advance!

You might also want to consider whether the shelf is secured to the wallThe shelf is freestanding; despite having a wall behind it, I didn’t attach or fix it in place, simply for flexibility in case I rearrange the room.

If the laminate flooring is truly level and your KALLAX wobbles, the shelf itself might be warpedI have checked that possibility, and the shelf is straight with no warping or damage. It stood level on carpet, but now it wobbles slightly. I believe the cause is small floor unevenness or the hard surface.
I will try your suggestions with furniture shims and possibly felt pads. Does anyone have experience attaching these under the legs to prevent slipping? Thanks!

Does anyone have experience with the best way to attach them under the feet so they don’t slip? You can use self-adhesive rubber pads or double-sided tape. These stay securely in place and protect the floor. Felt pads also work well, but they should have an adhesive backing.
This prevents slipping and protects your laminate flooring from damage.

Does anyone have experience on the best way to secure the feet underneath so they don’t slip?I recommend the following approach:
1. Thoroughly clean the underside of the shelf feet to ensure good adhesion of the adhesive material.
2. Use high-quality self-adhesive furniture pads (felt or rubber).
3. Alternatively, you can secure the pads with specialized contact adhesive — but only if you plan to fix them permanently.
Important: Avoid the cheapest products, as they often come off after a short time. It’s better to invest a little more.
A small tip: If you have uneven surfaces, you can stack several thin felt pads underneath to adjust the height gradually. Then press everything firmly and let it sit for 24 hours before loading the shelf.

use high-quality self-adhesive furniture pads (felt or rubber)I agree, and I would definitely recommend also sticking rubber pads under the felt sliders if there is concern about slipping on laminate flooring. This also protects the floor from scratches and provides better grip.
Otherwise, "shimming" the feet is the appropriate approach. It’s better to do this in specific spots rather than over a large area. Good luck!
