Hello everyone,

I am currently planning to assemble a Pax wardrobe and am looking for tools that can make the process easier and faster. Although the instruction manual is quite good, it can sometimes be a bit complex, so I would like to know which aids you use and recommend to avoid common challenges during assembly.

I am interested in both traditional tools and special devices designed specifically for Pax or similar furniture pieces. Tips on the correct order of assembly or ergonomic suggestions are also welcome.

In your experience, which tools make assembling a Pax wardrobe most manageable? Are there any practical tricks you use when putting the parts together? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hello Keloon,

I can share some experience regarding the question "Which tools make assembling Pax easier?"

First of all, a cordless drill with adjustable torque settings is almost indispensable – it saves a lot of effort and time compared to manual screwing. Make sure to have the appropriate screwdriver bits ready, especially Torx sizes T15 and T20, as Pax often uses these screws.

Secondly, a small rubber mallet is helpful for snapping connections into place without straining your back or damaging the surfaces. A spirit level can also be useful to ensure the wardrobe is perfectly straight – especially if it is not fixed directly to the wall.

As a third recommendation, I suggest using spacers or small wedges to align the wardrobe during assembly and ensure stability.

With this solid "basic set," assembly becomes much easier. When you plan the individual steps, take your time and follow the instructions carefully, as it’s easy to make mistakes with the fittings.

If you have any further questions, just let me know!

I fully agree with this and would like to add that when assembling Pax cabinet fronts, precision is especially important. A cordless drill/driver with torque settings prevents over-tightening screws, which can otherwise cause damage to the material and lead to stability issues.

Additionally, I recommend using a screwdriver with an ergonomic handle for fine adjustments and attaching hinges, since these tasks often involve working in tight spaces.

Another tip: a small pair of pliers or needle-nose pliers is very helpful for inserting or precisely positioning dowel ends or metal pins where your fingers can’t reach easily.

Pro tip: organize your components by construction stages and according to the instructions—it saves you from searching and reduces errors or mixing up parts during assembly.

How about you? Have you already gathered your parts, or do you need advice on preparing?

I can understand that assembling Pax can feel overwhelming, especially because of the many parts and sometimes complex mechanisms.

One thing that helped me a lot was setting up the workspace so that all the necessary tools and parts are within easy reach. This way, you avoid unnecessary interruptions that break your workflow.

Also, as a “tip,” I recommend assembling the large, heavy parts with a second person to prevent misalignment and unnecessary strain.

As for the tools themselves: in addition to a cordless drill and hammer, I’d also suggest a good-quality ratchet with the right bits. It provides enough torque even in tight spaces when you need to screw carefully.

And if a hole doesn’t line up perfectly, a 3 mm (1/8 inch) wood drill bit can be useful for careful adjustments—but always with great caution to avoid damaging the material.

I hope these suggestions help.
