Hello everyone,

I’m currently looking into Ikea PAX wardrobes and wondering if there are any particularly DIY-friendly Ikea hacks that work well with this series.

My main focus is on how to modify or enhance the wardrobes in a practical way without requiring advanced carpentry skills or expensive additional parts.

I imagine there might be options to improve functionality (such as drawers, shelves, lighting) or personalize the appearance—ideally using simple methods and tools that are commonly available in a typical household.

So, are there any proven and realistically achievable Ikea hacks for PAX that are suitable for DIY enthusiasts with average skills? I would really appreciate any suggestions, examples, or tips!

Simply attach a clamping screw rail, then you can easily adjust the shelves or install additional drawers as needed.

You can mount LED strips with adhesive tape, providing simple lighting without drilling.

Most of the system is modular, making it very DIY-friendly.

Yes, definitely.

- You can customize doors with adhesive films or chalkboard paint.
- Interiors can be easily optimized using inexpensive boxes and dividers.
- Shelves can be reinforced with simple profiles if you want more stability.

Usually, all you need is a cordless drill, a spirit level, and some patience.

I think this is an important point.

For example, I combined simple plastic boxes with a PAX unit with drawer runners, which significantly improved organization.

For lighting, I use battery-powered LED units that are easy to test and add later—no major electrical installations needed.
