Hello
we are currently building our new house.
We had the first appointment with the electrician, and for the smart home system, he recommended Free@home.
The electrician does not offer KNX.
What would you recommend? Should we go with Free@home or install a wireless smart home system ourselves later?

@Neubau2022 do you know how to connect the Eufy?
There is a wired version (which I would definitely prefer), and for that, the standard 2-wire doorbell cable is sufficient, right?
Now the more important question: Does the regular door chime still work, or does it only ring through the Wi-Fi to the Eufy chimes?
If the internet goes down, will the doorbell stop working as well? (I understand that the smart functions will be lost, but there should at least be an audible chime)

If the internet goes down, does the doorbell stop working as well? (Of course, the smart features will be unavailable, but there should at least be an acoustic chime) I would differentiate between internet outage and network outage here. From what I understand, the Eufy basically runs locally and doesn’t necessarily require the internet after setup. Recording and such are also handled locally on the Home Base. The Wi-Fi just needs to keep working (Wi-Fi ≠ Internet).
At what height can a Wi-Fi doorbell be mounted on the exterior wall?
The recommended height is always 1.20m (about 4 feet), since these are typically retrofit solutions and this is the standard height for a regular doorbell.
My issue:
We want to install an ekey fingerprint scanner on the same wall, which should also be mounted at 1.20–1.30m (about 4–4.3 feet).
Is it possible to mount the Wi-Fi doorbell higher, around 1.50m (about 5 feet)?

Maybe you could simply read the manuals for the devices you want? They explain both how to install them and what happens if the internet goes down. You will definitely find information about the chime there as well. Or maybe you want someone from the forum to come by and install them for you? You are building a house, right? How is that supposed to work without any initiative on your part?
You can also install the device at 1.80 meters (5 ft 11 in), then it will face tall people directly and shorter ones won’t be able to reach it. Why ask questions? Just stick a piece of cardboard on the wall and try it out! Can you reach it? At what height does the camera face people? The ekey scanner can also be installed about 10 centimeters (4 inches) lower without any problem.

Sorry
I didn’t quite understand the part about the door chime in the manual.
It says the chime needs to be bypassed.
Does that mean the regular door chime will no longer work?
For example, with the Ring, I couldn’t find anything clear about whether it still works without the internet.
I assume the doorbell would then stop functioning.
Regarding the mounting heights, I thought it would be best to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure proper operation.
