Inspired by @Alessandro, I’m starting my own house building thread here. For several months now, I have been an active reader, witnessing many interesting, exciting, and sometimes difficult experiences in this forum. I’ve learned a lot and shared in many joys, anxieties, and challenges.

We bought our plot at the end of 2016, planned extensively, and then waited even longer for the building permit / planning permission – unfortunately for over a year. By now, we have been working on the interior finishing for several weeks, and due to COVID-19, this will probably take even longer.

Here are some photos of the model and the original floor plans:

Attic floor plan: bedroom, walk-in closet, shower/WC, hallway, and terrace.

Upper floor plan: garage, living area, kitchen/dining area, storage rooms, and stairs.

Ground floor plan: guest room, three children’s bedrooms, open space, utility room, bathroom/WC, terrace.

@Xingwei421 The flooring is actually called Liquid Design; you can look it up online. There are different colors, and you can see cork pieces embedded in it. Here are our four selected options:

Close-up of three fingernails on turquoise-blue, speckled surface texture.

Close-up of a hand with three fingers at the bottom left edge on brown cardboard.

Close-up of a hand with short, natural-colored fingernails on dark, textured surface.

Close-up of three fingernails with natural, light tips on gray surface.

Do you also have it installed in living spaces? It looks stylish on the website.
Who installed it?

@pagoni2020 We have it in the children's rooms and in the basement level, although the basement level is not really a "basement" due to the sloping site. We also have the option to convert it into a separate apartment later on. It was installed by a Swiss company.

Here is a before-and-after picture (the facade is not finished yet):

House with green shutters on a slope; tree trunks in the foreground, view of a lake.

Modern house facade surrounded by scaffolding; construction work, view of water and blue sky.

Today, a before and after picture
The "before" house seems like it was personally designed by William Tell,
you could call it "Chalet Stirnima"

Good decision choosing this local design with the shutters and the large roof overhang. Romantic evenings are definitely planned here. Fortunately, you didn’t build one of those terribly modern glass boxes where cleaning becomes a never-ending task.

I’m really happy for you!
