Inspired by @Alessandro, I’m starting my own house building thread here. For several months now, I have been an active reader, witnessing many interesting, exciting, and sometimes difficult experiences in this forum. I’ve learned a lot and shared in many joys, anxieties, and challenges.

We bought our plot at the end of 2016, planned extensively, and then waited even longer for the building permit / planning permission – unfortunately for over a year. By now, we have been working on the interior finishing for several weeks, and due to COVID-19, this will probably take even longer.

Here are some photos of the model and the original floor plans:

Attic floor plan: bedroom, walk-in closet, shower/WC, hallway, and terrace.

Upper floor plan: garage, living area, kitchen/dining area, storage rooms, and stairs.

Ground floor plan: guest room, three children’s bedrooms, open space, utility room, bathroom/WC, terrace.

Basement floor plan with cellars, technical room, sauna, wellness area, and room

@pagoni2020 What's so funny about that? It’s clearly shown on the plan on page 1
Okay, the text on page 1 wasn’t very clear to me anymore. I usually work more with IMAGES, and ever since I started taking these new drops, I’ve been laughing all day long anyway.
What did you say again?

The "climbing gym" is actually a party room... We just didn’t want to call it that on the plans. I also don’t like closed-off spaces, so I appreciate the open areas and the open staircase design.

@hampshire Thank you very much. Not everything went smoothly during the construction phase, but now we are very happy with the result and enjoy living here every day.

I guess that will be the climbing gym with a kitchenette

Thanks, that makes more sense than having the open space above the kitchen or living area (because of the noise from the washing machine :cool

@Mellina
Could you please provide more information about the cork floors (manufacturer, source)? I searched on Google but couldn’t find anything that matches what your pictures suggest.
