Today at 10:00 AM, the installation of our new photovoltaic system began.

The approval from the city was granted last week.

Currently, the substructure (Schletter) is being installed.
Tomorrow, the panels will be mounted and the strings routed into the house.

Further electrical installation / inverter setup has not yet been scheduled.

I will keep you updated.

This is an info thread to show how long this process takes, from the first bracket on the roof to commissioning.

Best regards,
Thorsten

Hi Wastl, we have a 70% rule. Best regards, Thorsten

What kind of backward practice is that? Here, the approved electrician brings the correct bidirectional meter from the utility company directly and replaces it on the same day. I’m shocked.

I’m not happy about it either.

Because I suggested this yesterday: The electrician should pick up the meter from the utility company on Monday morning and install it right away. The utility company is just 8 minutes (by car) from here.

Response: Not possible. The utility company will first send someone to check if the system is properly and correctly installed after the installation is complete.
Only then will they provide a meter.

So everything takes longer and the electrician has to make two trips...

Well... I can’t change it.

Best regards,
Thorsten

You forgot about the mafia-like arrangements, because:
The meters aren’t even installed by the grid operator anymore, but by a private subcontractor who had a backlog of several months at that time. Even after multiple calls, the response was just: You will be scheduled at some point...
What can you do? Nothing... Complaints to the grid operator didn’t help at all – reversing the household meter was banned at that time...

What scale of photovoltaic system are we talking about here? We have those too, but only for systems larger than x kWp... (x > 10?, uncertain).

Our system has an installation capacity of 6.675 kWp

2.94 kWp east-facing roof
3.74 kWp west-facing roof

Here, the grid operator only has to make a single move. And that only happens when the meter receives the address label for the electrician/solar installer.

Yes, I think so too. Typical Velbert. A big fuss over minor issues.
