ᐅ Separate Water Meter for Garden Irrigation – How to Read the Meter

Tx-25Hello everyone,
We have a separate water meter before our outdoor water connection.
I have noticed that both the main meter and the outdoor meter turn when, for example, I water the lawn.
How should I report the water usage when requested?
Should I read the main meter for consumption and for wastewater report both the main meter and the garden meter?
We moved in last year around mid-year.
For both water supply and wastewater, 48 m³ (1,693 cubic feet) were billed.
I submitted the meter reading myself. The reading card only shows one meter number.
That number corresponds to the meter connected through the water utility.
The garden meter was installed by the plumber.

Actually, it’s quite simple:
First, you need to submit the reading from the main meter. This figure is used to calculate the water consumption and the corresponding wastewater charges.
At the same time, submit the reading from the garden water meter (provided it is recognized by the water supplier).
The difference between these two readings shows the consumption for which no wastewater fee has to be paid.
Example:
The main water meter shows a consumption of 100 m³ (26417 gallons).
The garden water meter reads 25 m³ (6604 gallons).
You pay for 100 m³ (26417 gallons) of water consumption plus wastewater charges for 75 m³ (19813 gallons).

It is the same for us. The water meter is read remotely via radio signal, so I don't have to do anything. Drinking water (supplier) and wastewater (property charges) are billed based on this. If I submit the reading from the external meter on time, it will be taken into account in the notice for the property charges. In doing so, I report to the wastewater utility.
I just spoke with the wastewater authority.
The plumber installed the cold water meter last year. During the construction phase, I didn’t give it much thought and assumed the plumber would also register the meter.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So now we have to pay for 43m³ (43 cubic meters) of wastewater.
What a bother.
Tomorrow, I will call the sewage treatment plant to have the meter sealed a second time (the first time was done by the installer). From then on, the reading on the meter will be used.

We also had an additional sub-meter installed. However, it first had to be inspected and sealed by the utility association. After that, it must be replaced and inspected again every 5 years. Both meters have to be reported. Are you satisfied with it? What does it cost to replace the meter after 5 or 6 years?
I have already saved €140 after just one year.
I was initially skeptical about whether a second meter would be worthwhile. There is no basic fee for the second meter in our case.
