Hello everyone,

we have received the first offer for our planned photovoltaic system. What do you think about it? Are the materials good and is the price reasonable at the moment? The house is currently under construction.
Roof pitch 35 degrees, east-west orientation.

Best regards

5 components: PV module, inverter, storage, surge protection, mounting system; total value

The deadline had passed...

I would get 2-3 more quotes; I just find this too expensive. Of course, prices have risen and demand is high, but you don’t have to accept everything.

We had the same number of modules, the same inverter, etc., and paid a clean €10,000 net exactly 3 years ago. To give you an idea of the installation: the 28 modules were mounted by a skilled worker and an apprentice on the roof in exactly one day, and the cables were routed to the utility room. On the second day, the master electrician came and completed all wiring and final connections between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. (including the SMA Home Manager, which isn’t even included in your offer).

I also didn’t see a line item for "scaffolding"... will that be added on top or was it included somewhere else?

The scaffolding depends on the exact timing of the installation and whether we can use the one from the general contractor.
I have also contacted other suppliers, but it takes some time until we receive an offer. Thanks to everyone already for the initial assessment.

Today I received a quote for a 10 kWp system.

Self-pickup with all components included: roof hooks, rails, cables, connectors, modules, Huawei Sun 10 KTL M1 inverter. Storage can be retrofitted later, and of course with modules for a 395 heat pump or a 450 heat pump.

Price for everything with self-pickup, available immediately, is 6200 euros. Having the roofer install it with connection included, the system costs 8000 euros. What’s the problem?

I’m not allowed to link it. Google can help.

€800 per kWp including installation? I’m curious if that actually works out – if so, congratulations.

I would be very interested in the calculation showing how the battery pays for itself after five years.
This is how it would look at 5.6 years. For €10,000 (about $10,700), it’s 10.1 years. The indicated cycles are based on my planned system with around 29 kWh. However, the biggest factors are the price and/or the electricity cost.

There should be room for more on the roof. The roof area is 5.5 * 11.73 m per side (minus one roof window on one side only). How many modules make sense?

Regarding the panels, about 30 units per side should fit on the plot. Due to the roof window, subtract max. 4 —> 56 modules = 23 kWp.

For a single-family house with a heat pump, you’ll likely have a consumption of around 5,500 – 7,000 kWh.
To cover the heat pump’s consumption, especially in winter, you should definitely use the entire roof space.
But with a different solar installer ;-)
