Today at 10:00 AM, the installation of our new photovoltaic system began.

The approval from the city was granted last week.

Currently, the substructure (Schletter) is being installed.
Tomorrow, the panels will be mounted and the strings routed into the house.

Further electrical installation / inverter setup has not yet been scheduled.

I will keep you updated.

This is an info thread to show how long this process takes, from the first bracket on the roof to commissioning.

Best regards,
Thorsten

Who is the network operator in your area?

SW Velbert is indirectly backed by—how could it be otherwise here—RWE.

But RWE is also Westnetz, and they are not involved in this mess.

As long as the electrician is certified for the grid, they can do it themselves and are responsible by signing off on the work.

And even if they are not certified for this particular grid but are certified for another German grid, they can apply for a "guest approval."

I really don’t understand how anyone can behave so unfriendly towards customers.

Hm, thanks for the tip. I’ll be there on Monday when the electrician arrives. I’ll talk to him. That’s all I can do for now.

Exactly. Check if and how there are ways to install the meter.

I would have to guess, but from the time the power of attorney was granted to our solar installer so that they could order the meter from Westnetz until the feed-in started, about 10 or 11 calendar days passed.

Hi, I have granted such a power of attorney.

Thank you for your patience and your advice!

Best regards

--------- Status 17.03.15 -------
Substructure completed.
Panels installed.
String cables laid inside the house.
Voltage is present accordingly.
The house looks completely different now – I have to get used to it.
On the east side, panel chaos (thermal solar + photovoltaic). Somehow futuristic.
West side is crystal clear with only photovoltaic, nicely and symmetrically installed; no thermal solar in the way here.

All conditions are met for electrical installation and inverter installation to start next Monday.

So far: good progress. A great installation team of three people – very dedicated, competent, and committed.
