Good morning everyone,
As the year is coming to an end, hopefully most projects for 2019 are completed. What are your plans for 2020? Any major projects in the garden or upgrades inside the house? What will you be working on next year?
We want to finally finish and move in by January/February, so gardening and the terrace will be on the agenda for next year.
My personal passion project is the hot tub. I just haven't decided yet whether to buy one or build it myself. I definitely don’t want one of those plastic ones...
A concrete one would be amazing:

But fully covered then? In my opinion, just the basin lined with foil and the walls, etc., in concrete doesn’t look good.
Please show a picture. Our pool is installed flush with the ground, so you cannot see any exterior concrete walls.
Best regards,
Sabine
@Curly Then it is a classic pool with concrete walls. This is often done and has little to do with a "concrete pool."
I meant something where the concrete is visible everywhere, like in the example from @Grantlhaua.
Just lining the inner basin looks odd. Plain concrete looks great but causes problems over time with chlorine or salt.

- Greenhouse
- Vegetable garden
- Chicken coop
- Beehive
- Compost system with Bokashi and effective microorganisms (EM)
- Designing various areas on the property
- Outdoor sauna
- Putting the hot tub into operation
- Carport with storage shed
- Starting the conversion of the forest into a selective logging forest
- Producing firewood
Let’s see how far we get – sitting on the terrace and reading is often an appealing alternative when the weather is nice. Some things might remain unfinished and simply move to the 2021 list. Nothing is mandatory.

My personal dream project is a whirlpool. I just haven’t decided yet whether to buy one or build it myself. I really don’t want one of those plastic things…

Uninsulated = heating costs higher than for the entire house.
Rough surface = hard to clean.
No ergonomically shaped seats or lounging areas, which reduces the relaxation effect.
For the same reason, I wouldn’t choose a barrel-style or inflatable model either.
For us, it’s also garden, garden, garden.
