ᐅ Why is no one allowed to install my washbasins?

Hello,
can anyone maybe shed some light on this?
I've already heard from two companies that they cannot provide a quote for installing the washbasins we supplied ourselves because they are not allowed to install them dürfen. Even our plumber, who is handling the rest of the house installations, said he is not allowed to do it. Then I asked a carpentry company installing our staircase, and they also say they are not allowed to do it. I am also not receiving any offers or inquiries from my request for quotes on MyHammer.
I'm missing a piece of the puzzle here to understand. Why exactly is no one allowed to do this?

I hate this plumbing warranty wannabe talk, which is why we bought almost everything online at half price. With the money saved, it was more than enough not only to stick with standard options but to choose quality products right down to the sink, which was affordable.

You might find a quote too expensive for your situation, and a reasonable argument may not hold up in your case. In that event, no deal is made. A higher price combined with excellent service and the refusal to install third-party products for liability reasons is no reason for disparaging accusations.

I don’t mind if the offer for the sanitary items ends up being too expensive; I can simply say no. But then refusing to install the same purchased items just because the hidden profit margin is reduced is not acceptable. That is simply unfair.

The same applies to the electrician—what’s the difference between Gira sockets bought at the hardware store or directly from the electrician? There is none, except that the electrician doubles the price to increase their income.

It is a completely normal assessment regarding margin and risk. There is nothing cheeky about it. You don’t like his offer, you find it too expensive, he doesn’t want to take the order on your terms. That’s all there is to it.

This was our situation: Within our close family circle, we found a plumber who was willing to install the toilet, washbasin, etc. For the shower and bathtub, we clearly wanted to hire a professional plumber because of the warranty.

So, we ordered everything else (toilet, washbasin, faucet...) from a supplier, after discussing this with the plumber; he was supposed to handle only the rough installation in these cases.

Then a major problem occurred: our relative had knee surgery and couldn't do anything, but we had already ordered everything. Our plumber was fantastic in this situation! He installed everything on a time-and-materials basis.

In the end, compared to the initial quote from the supplier, we saved a good four-figure sum and got exactly what we really wanted.

Sorry @Bayerin
This concerns a general contractor build, not an owner-managed project.

Ah, ok.
But I can still understand if someone is not satisfied with the products offered in the showroom. Maybe you can explain it to the plumber who is installing anyway and have it installed on a time-and-materials basis (which doesn’t automatically mean “cheap”).
