Hello,
can anyone maybe shed some light on this?
I've already heard from two companies that they cannot provide a quote for installing the washbasins we supplied ourselves because they are not allowed to install them dürfen. Even our plumber, who is handling the rest of the house installations, said he is not allowed to do it. Then I asked a carpentry company installing our staircase, and they also say they are not allowed to do it. I am also not receiving any offers or inquiries from my request for quotes on MyHammer.
I'm missing a piece of the puzzle here to understand. Why exactly is no one allowed to do this?

I have no problem with men and testosterone-driven know-it-alls.
Shall I spill some insider secrets? The greater the verbal ability, the smaller the practical skills.

Would you like me to share some insider stories? The greater the verbal skill, the smaller the practical ability.

There is no doubt about your insider knowledge, and believe me, as a man, you get an even higher dose of the same from your own gender. I have only ever met heroes when it comes to building... but... you could judge them by their actions, not their words.
Who doesn’t have an issue with such men? ... or people?

I have been working in a male-dominated field for over 15 years. Do you have any idea what a woman has to put up with there?

Apart from that, men sometimes think and behave differently from women. For that reason, it makes sense to offer courses separately.

Besides that, men sometimes think and react differently than women. That’s why it makes sense to offer courses separately.
Yes, I can imagine that, as I have also worked in a male-dominated field. However, it’s surely true that each “side” knows something about the other, and within each group there are often internal conflicts regardless of gender. I personally don’t care whether a course is attended or led by women or men, as long as the content is good. So the idea of separating courses by gender would have been unfamiliar to me; but if it is accepted and works well, then that’s fine too. That’s the beauty of freedom. But if I were denied a spot just because I’m a man and simply interested in the topic like everyone else, that would be unfortunate. Similarly, I would advocate that a woman should be granted a place in a men’s course if she applies... oh dear. Among reasonably socialized people, this issue shouldn’t really arise in a course; if it does, it is rarely due to the participants’ gender... he wrote, then went off to sign up for the same-gender drumming class.

I am not sure if there are courses for men that start from absolute beginner level.
I think it’s a good idea to offer separate beginner courses.

Oh dear, we don’t agree on the strict separation and I understand your bad experiences. Of course, there are beginner courses. Men there also know they are starting from scratch and behave accordingly. If the women do the same, then it works out.
