ᐅ Why is no one allowed to install my washbasins?

Hello,
can anyone maybe shed some light on this?
I've already heard from two companies that they cannot provide a quote for installing the washbasins we supplied ourselves because they are not allowed to install them dürfen. Even our plumber, who is handling the rest of the house installations, said he is not allowed to do it. Then I asked a carpentry company installing our staircase, and they also say they are not allowed to do it. I am also not receiving any offers or inquiries from my request for quotes on MyHammer.
I'm missing a piece of the puzzle here to understand. Why exactly is no one allowed to do this?

Ask one of the usual all-in-one handyman services.

In our house, we had previously agreed with the tradespeople to source some items ourselves (stone washbasin, light switches...). It wasn’t a problem. So there should be a way.

I also believe that there are all-rounders everywhere who handle small repairs and more. After all, where else would the average tenant or homeowner call if the mixer tap is broken…

Installing washbasins is a critical issue because you have to drill 4–8 holes per basin into the pre-wall installation and tiles. You can easily imagine how high the risk is of causing secondary damage and additional labor costs from cracked tiles. Combined with no equity earned and poor cash payment since it seems like little effort, you won’t find anyone willing to do this with common sense.

I also did it myself, and it wasn’t fun, even with a diamond drill bit drilling 10 holes into 1cm (0.4 inch) porcelain tiles. Each hole took about 30 minutes, and now imagine if a tile cracks :-p

Ah, okay, that really clears things up. So the tradesperson would basically be liable if I have damage to my WASHBASIN?

Of course, they must be liable. But in that case, it would be a matter of the trades company “not wanting” to accept responsibility, or the employed tradesperson “not being allowed” to do so.

They could just send me any nice invoice for that. :/

Here, the “not allowed” is probably the issue: the trades company (subcontractor) is prohibited from accepting jobs alongside the main building company. The main building company wants to handle everything through their own accounts and thereby A) earn a few more percent, because B) they provide the warranty on the house and on every issue for the first 5 years.

MyHammer: the companies and contractors are kept busy.

The craftsman must assume the warranty for the washbasin that the client purchased, not just for the installation. Of course, it is not prohibited, but why should anyone take on this risk?

Exciting topic, curious to see how it turns out
