Hello everyone, I am about to assemble my Ikea Platsa wardrobe and want to work as efficiently and neatly as possible. Therefore, I am interested in learning which tools have proven to be especially helpful and practical. From my experience, some people find it quite difficult to work with just the included Allen key. Are there any tools beyond the standard set that make the assembly easier, faster, or more precise? Perhaps cordless screwdrivers, special bits, or even specific aids for installing hinges and pull-out drawers? I look forward to your recommendations, including any tips on what to watch out for when using these tools.

Hello, I just finished building my Platsa – and yes, it’s really enjoyable when you are well prepared! What worked well for me was a small, lightweight cordless drill with adjustable torque. This helps prevent over-tightening and damaging the hardware! I also use an LED flashlight to ensure good visibility, especially around the hinges inside at the bottom. And last but not least, definitely wear gloves! This helps avoid splinters or scratches on your hands.

I can only confirm that! In addition, I find it important to take breaks and complete the assembly calmly, step by step. The importance of careful installation for stability is often underestimated. Even though it can be tempting to screw everything in quickly, patience pays off in the end.

Briefly and concisely: a cordless screwdriver with a hex bit, a small rubber mallet, a set of crosshead and flathead bits, and a spirit level. With these, everything can be assembled efficiently. Everything else is mostly unnecessary for Platsa.
