Hello everyone, I am currently looking into which spare parts for the Ikea Pax system are best to keep in stock to be able to respond quickly in case of a defect or wear. I am especially interested in which parts tend to cause the most problems or where it makes sense to prepare for wear without having to secure the entire system.
Specifically, I am interested in:
- Replacement hinges that often come loose or jam
- Suitable rollers or tracks for sliding doors
- Handles or front fittings that are easy to replace
- Assembly materials such as screws or clamping profiles
Perhaps you have experience with frequently ordered parts or recommendations on which spare parts are essential to have on hand to avoid long searches for orders if something breaks. Thanks for your advice!

Hi, I would keep the hinges and the rollers of the sliding doors in stock.Thank you, that confirms my assumption that the hinges are probably the most important spare parts.

In my experience, the lifespan of these parts is limited,I think that’s a good point—I also want to be proactive rather than just reacting when something breaks.
Can anyone say something about the handles? Is it useful to keep them as spare parts, or are they usually durable enough?
Hello everyone! The running wheels for the sliding doors are definitely very important – I’ve had issues with them several times, and they are really easy to replace. And yes, handles can also break, but I would get those as needed.
I think if you have hinges, running wheels, and a few screws on hand, you’re well prepared! With those, you can quickly fix almost all common Pax problems. It’s really satisfying to be able to help quickly without having to wait weeks for replacement parts!

If you haven’t considered this yet, I also recommend keeping an eye on the small plastic clip profiles and spacers, which tend to get lost or break, especially in more complex PAX installations.
I completely agree! A small box with essential small parts often helps a lot for quick repairs.
