Hello everyone,
I recently assembled my IKEA Hemnes bed and noticed that some spare parts, such as screws and wall plugs, were missing, or I am concerned that they might wear out over time with use. I am therefore very interested in which spare parts for the IKEA Hemnes are particularly important to ensure the stability and durability of the furniture. Which components should definitely be kept in stock or checked regularly? Are there parts that, based on experience, tend to break more often or need replacing? I’m also curious whether certain screws or fasteners should be swapped with alternatives to improve longevity.

zarHenning30 Aug 2023 10:31Screws and wooden dowels are the most important things! They are usually sold individually at IKEA. If something is loose, just replace it immediately. It saves time and frustration.

I think the saying for Hemnes applies here: "Small parts – big impact." Especially the screws and wall plugs deserve a lot of attention.
I feel the same way! I’d add that if you ever want to replace the original screws with stainless steel ones, you’ll increase durability, especially in more humid rooms.
Also, it’s worth checking the screws on the handles, as they tend to loosen over time. Just tighten them a bit occasionally, and everything stays looking good.
