Hello everyone, I have a specific question regarding "Which replacement parts are most commonly needed for Billy shelves?"

I am particularly interested in the components that are most often damaged or lost during everyday use, requiring replacement. It is often mentioned that screws or connectors are affected, but side panels or back panels could also be damaged through carelessness.

Who here has personal experience identifying the most frequently needed replacement parts? Are there any parts that are especially difficult to obtain? I would appreciate a detailed list, preferably with tips on how to prevent common damage.

Most of the time, it’s the screw connections or small dowels on the shelf board that start to weaken after a while.

I can only agree with that! Especially when the Billy shelf is constantly under full load, you usually notice the small screw connections first.

I once had a shelf where the back panel got damaged – but that was really an exception and mostly due to improper handling.

If you want your shelves to stay stable for longer: just check everything from time to time and tighten screws slightly, and occasionally lubricate the screws, then everything holds up better. A little maintenance pays off! 🙂
