Hello everyone,
I am new here (we are just at the very beginning of our house construction – currently dealing with all the paperwork) so I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place.
I have a question about garages, and if I’m in the wrong section, please just let me know where I should post next time.
We would like to have a prefabricated double garage with a wide sectional door and electric opener. It should be plastered in the same color as the house. So far so good. Now to my questions:
- What are the price differences between a mono-pitched roof, a gable roof, and a green flat roof? (Only these 3 roof types are permitted in our community.)
- Which roof type would you recommend?
- Also: The garage should have a door to the garden and a door leading directly into the house. Is this even possible with prefabricated garages? And if yes, how?
- Lastly, the size of the garage. An SUV must fit in, and the remaining space will be used for bicycles, children’s equipment, etc., maybe a small workbench. Is 6x6 meters (20x20 feet) sufficient?
Thank you very much for your help,
Anya.

unfortunately, I can’t say anything about the roofs. We ordered a precast concrete garage. It was the most affordable option from our suppliers, but any extras like a different color, an electric garage door opener, doors, or windows are (or would be, since we didn’t take any of those extras) charged at a significantly higher cost. So, a precast garage does not exclude additional doors, but if you want many extras for your garage, the initial price advantage may quickly become less significant. It’s best if you already know exactly what you want for the garage and then request complete, detailed quotes.
