Hi!

I am planning to build a garage. Now I’m wondering if it’s worth getting a prefabricated garage. I’ve heard that these have many advantages compared to traditional garages. For example, they are supposed to be much more affordable! Do you have any experience with this, and what should I consider before installation?

Prefabricated Garage as a Second Living Room

Hi sennor,

Yes, you can definitely attach a prefabricated garage to your house! It’s no problem at all. Furthermore, a prefabricated garage can even be set up as a second living room. You can include windows, additional doors, electrical wiring, and even heating. Prefabricated garages are often installed to create a hobby room. There are no limits to the variety of ideas!

Best regards,

Hi!

This all sounds very reasonable and convincing. Although I have planned a real garage, I like the idea of having access to a hobby room that way.

What is cheaper? A prefab garage is certainly faster and more convenient, but if you build it yourself, you can decide everything on your own.

We have just noticed a problem with our prefabricated garage (2008). There are many hairline cracks in the side walls, through which water is running onto the floor. Proper puddles are forming. We previously had a carport, which we could have kept!!!

What does this have to do with the original question? The same can happen with a garage built on-site. It somehow sounds like a faulty foundation issue....
