Hello everyone, I am planning a larger Ikea Besta project for storage and organization, which includes several modules and therefore requires a certain load capacity and stability. My question to the community is: From your experience, which furniture connectors work best for larger Besta configurations? I am especially interested in connectors that provide long-term stability and can handle heavier weight, and that are ideally easy to assemble. Are there any specific connectors you would recommend, perhaps in addition to the ones provided by IKEA? I look forward to your tips and advice!
One more tip for assembly: When installing the brackets, make sure the screws aren’t too long so they don’t penetrate through the veneer. For my Besta setup, I also used long screws with washers to improve the hold.
I can only agree with that—besides sturdy furniture connectors, wall mounting is essential for large projects. Better safe than sorry, especially when there are children in the house.
Regarding the connectors: The so-called “clamp connectors” or tension screws are also an option if you want to remodel later, but they are more expensive.

Also make sure to anchor the modules securely to the wall; that really adds a sense of safety.
