I’m currently considering getting a Pax system from Ikea and was wondering which colors are the most popular for Ikea Pax. I’m especially interested in which finishes and colors have proven to work well in terms of interior styles and room sizes. Since Pax is very versatile and Ikea offers a fairly wide range of colors, it would be helpful to know which shades are commonly chosen in practice—whether it’s classic white, elegant wood finishes, or perhaps dark, modern options. Are there any recommendations or trends that make daily use and overall appearance easier? And how well do the chosen colors combine with other furniture? Thanks in advance for your insights and experiences!

That’s exactly the point: the most popular colors are often not the most practical. White is the classic best-seller, definitely – it looks clean, bright, and makes spaces appear larger. But it’s also the color for minimalists and standard users. To me, it’s overrated, because “popular” doesn’t always mean “good.”

If you want real character, go for dark colors like anthracite or dark brown-black. This turns the cabinet into a statement piece, adds contrast, and almost always represents a modern, urban vibe. However, you should pay attention to room size, as these tones can make spaces feel smaller.

Wood finishes or natural brown and beige tones are often underestimated. They bring warmth but are unfortunately not very common in the PAX range. I always wonder why Ikea doesn’t experiment more or offer more “natural” alternatives.

So (provocatively) – popular doesn’t automatically mean the best choice when you take design and functionality seriously.

White is by far the best-selling color for PAX. Most users choose it because of its flexibility and ease of combination. Dark colors are more commonly used in larger rooms, while wood finishes are popular when a natural look is desired.

I can confirm this assessment. Based on available sales figures and user reviews, white PAX is the top seller. The color is especially popular for the following reasons:

- Neutral base color that easily fits into many interior design concepts
- Visual enlargement of small spaces through light reflection
- Flexibility when combining with other furniture and decorative elements

Wood finishes or natural brown and beige tones are often underrated.

These shades are indeed less common but are highly appreciated by customers seeking a warm, cozy atmosphere. It should be noted that Ikea mainly offers white and dark fronts for PAX, with fewer options in wood veneer or imitations. Additionally, buyers should always consider the room’s lighting conditions to prevent dark cabinets from feeling too heavy.

In summary, white and anthracite are the two dominant colors for PAX, while wood finishes occupy a niche for specific tastes.
