Hello everyone,
I am currently facing an issue with my new IKEA Brimnes furniture piece, where screws that are obviously essential for assembly are missing. Specifically, these are the small Phillips screws used to attach the side panels. Since the furniture cannot be properly assembled without these screws, I would like to know the best way to handle this situation.
I have already checked whether they might be in another bag or if replacement parts can be easily ordered, but so far I haven’t found a satisfactory solution.
I am especially interested if anyone has experience with the best way to replace these screws, or if IKEA provides quick and hassle-free replacements. I am also concerned about whether using non-original screws might cause stability problems, or if screws with similar specifications would be suitable.
I look forward to your tips and advice!

I can fully understand the frustration when important screws are missing during assembly. I had the same experience with my Brimnes shelving unit and was quite disappointed at first.
What helped me was staying calm and waiting for the replacement parts order from IKEA. The screws did arrive, and the assembly then worked out, even though it took a few days.
In the meantime, I didn’t try to improvise because I was worried the furniture might become unstable.
Perhaps a small psychological tip: assembling furniture with missing parts is annoying but manageable. Don’t give up too quickly when you’re halfway through.
