Hello everyone,

I recently ordered the IKEA Brimnes bed and noticed upon unpacking that some screws were missing, which are essential for a stable assembly. Specifically, the metal connecting bolts and some of the longer wood screws needed for the frame are absent.

I’m wondering what you would recommend in such a case: Should I contact IKEA directly and hope for replacements, or are there practical alternatives to substitute the missing screws? If so, which exact screws should I use to ensure the bed’s stability and safety are not compromised?

Any advice to help me assemble my BRIMNES bed securely would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards!

I completely understand how frustrating it is when important screws are missing during furniture assembly. That uncertainty about whether the furniture is stable can be really stressful.

If you decide to find your own solution at a hardware store, be sure to pay close attention to the dimensions and quality of the screws. I once had a similar problem, and when replacing the screws at the hardware store, they had to fit precisely; otherwise, the furniture would have become unstable.

It’s also perfectly fine to use IKEA’s service—there’s no shame in that! If you want, you can post your measurements or the type of missing screws here, and maybe we can help you find the right parts.

Hang in there, you’ll get it sorted soon!

When it comes to replacement parts for missing screws in IKEA Brimnes furniture, a structured approach is recommended:

- Contact IKEA customer service, ideally providing the model number and a detailed description of the missing parts.
- Shipping costs may be waived if the shortage is IKEA’s responsibility.
- If a quick solution is needed, you can purchase screws with the same specifications from a hardware store.
- Pay close attention to diameter, length, thread type, and material to ensure the required load capacity.

It is advisable to prefer original parts to guarantee quality and safety.
