Hello everyone,
I have a sort of party room in my garden or yard that I only use during the summer. The wooden boards used as cladding are starting to look worn, and I want to have the room reclad on these two sides (see photo). The whole area should be clad, plastered, and painted.

What materials would be suitable for this? Underneath the wood there is only rock wool insulation and battens. There is no need for extensive additional insulation.
The painter will come next week to provide an estimate. Roughly, how much would it cost to have a professional do this work?

That is, removing and disposing of the wooden boards, installing new cladding, plastering, and painting, etc.

How about just going to the hardware store and spending an afternoon? Buy paint, repaint, and that’s it.
If you don’t necessarily want a visually designed extension and have way too much money to spare, hiring a contractor for the services you mentioned is money thrown away.

Or do you buy a new car when the old one is just out of fuel?

1.) Painting is pointless and not up for discussion. It was newly painted just last year. The issue is that the wood is damaged, with tongues and grooves breaking off and gaps forming. It needs to be replaced anyway.
2.) I don’t want any more wood; it should match the other buildings. Attached is a photo showing how I imagine it should look visually (like the residential building).
3.) The question was about costs. If it costs up to 3,000 euros, I’ll go ahead with it. If it’s more, I’ll have to reconsider whether to just replace the wooden boards. The area isn’t very large.

PS: Although off-topic, I only drive my cars for one year. So why shouldn’t I replace wooden boards from the late 1980s or have the cladding changed?!

You can, for example, screw fiber cement boards on and then apply plaster over them. Costs?

Ok, that would be exactly the question.

Of course, you can completely renovate and change the type of wall if you don’t like the wood appearance.
If the wood dates back to the 1980s and was only finished about 30 years later, this certainly indicates a high-quality type of tongue-and-groove elements.
Screwing something onto the old wood does not promise a long-term solution.
