ᐅ Turning an Ikea Expedit Shelf and Desk Around

I have the Ikea Expedit shelving unit with 2 by 4 compartments and the desk in an "L" shape.

Now I want to turn the shelving unit so that it is 2 compartments high and 4 wide.
I also want to keep the desk attached.
However, this is not possible because the mounting points are only 2 cm (about 1 inch) apart, and I need at least 5 cm (about 2 inches).

Does anyone have an idea how I could do this? Or does anyone have experience with this?

It’s best to have two new fasteners made or to have it done at a small metal workshop. This is probably not very expensive.
