Good evening,

My bungalow, which has been designed to be barrier-free, is now getting the doors installed. A T30 fire-resistant door is planned as the access to the garage. I had the garage floor slab made slightly higher on purpose, so that later the screed in the house and garage will be level.

The frame has a continuous seal all around. Has anyone installed something like this in their home or have experience with it? Maybe even a photo?

I am a bit worried that the frame could become a tripping hazard 🤨

I can take a picture for you tomorrow. I have a Hörmann T30 steel door, and the frame at the bottom seems to be raised about 2-3cm (1-1.2 inches).

But there are also options without a bottom threshold.

Great 🙂

Without the door frame at the bottom, that would be my preference as well, but then the door wouldn’t be sealed at the bottom anymore, or am I mistaken?

Presumably similar to climate class doors with drop seals.

Has anyone here installed a drop-down seal by any chance?

We have a door with a drop-down seal to the garage. At the bottom, it rests on the tiles.
